Literally Safe ("we" or "us") respects and protects the privacy of consumers; and is committed to delivering a privacy-safe search environment. When you use Literally Safe, you trust us with your searches and we understand and value this trust. We have provided this Privacy Policy to explain how Literally Safe protects your privacy while searching, what information we collect through Literally Safe and some of your privacy rights regarding that information.Effective April 2022
Summary of our Literally Safe Practices
Literally Safe does not track search history in any user identifiable way.
The most popular search engines create search profiles of specific users in order to retarget ads based on those search queries as the user navigates the internet. Literally Safe does not track your search history in any user identifiable way.
Literally Safe does not retain server logs.
Literally Safe does not use tracking tools or maintain logs that compromise your privacy.
Literally Safe prevents your ISP from tracking your search terms.
Some search engines do not encrypt your queries, which means your Internet Service Provider (ISP) can intercept and access them and connect them to your web and/or cable account. When you use Literally Safe, your search queries are encrypted so that your ISP cannot read them.
Literally Safe does not associate your searches from your online accounts.
Literally Safe completely disconnects your searches from being tied to your email accounts and social profiles.
Literally Safe helps hide your search history on your device.
Literally Safe uses proprietary technology to hide you search history from others who may use your device after you search. This may save you from some embarrassing situations.

Information We May Collect
We store aggregated search data and error log data to improve product performance, but never store IP addresses or unique user identifiers in connection with such data in order to ensure that none of the information collected in connection with your search activity is personally identifiable information (as such term is commonly understood in the United States without reference to any applicable state laws).
When using a browser extension built by Literally Safe, we collect the extension version, browser user agent, url referrer, extension platform identifier, and a setting for if remote searches should be encrypted. As part of encryption within the extension, the encryption version date, encryption key, and an expiring encryption search token are stored locally.
In some circumstances, we may append an affiliate code to certain sites linked to our Literally Safe product, either directly or through search results delivered to you. In doing so, we may collect a small commission in connection with your activity, but do not pass any of your personally identifiable information to any such third party sites. We do not utilize any third party to assist us with appending such affiliate code and we do not work with any third party site that collects personally identifiable information in connection with our participation in such affiliate programs. As such, no personally identifiable information is shared from our Literally Safe product and the only information that is collected is product information that is not relatable to any particular end user and we do not retain such information in any case.
Literally Safe does not use cookies to store user settings or any other site data.
To the extent you provide us with feedback, we may store your email address if you provide it (but you are not required to do so).
Information We May Share
To the extent we receive any legally binding request to comply with a court order or applicable law, we will share the information requested of us to the extent we have it, but, as noted above, we would expect this information to be very limited and likely of little use given our limited information collection.
Age Restriction
Literally Safe is not intended for children under the age of 13 (under 16 in the EEA). You are prohibited from using Literally Safe if you are under the age of 13 (under 16 in the EEA). While we do not knowingly collect information, including personally identifiable information, from children under the age of 13 (under 16 in the EEA), in the event that we learn that we have collected personally identifiable information from a child under the age of 13 (under 16 in the EEA), we will promptly delete it, unless legally required to retain such data. Please contact us immediately if you believe that we have mistakenly or unintentionally collected information from a child under the age of 13 (under 16 in the EEA). International Usage and Data Transfers
We make no representation and/or warranty that Literally Safe is appropriate, legal or available for use in any particular jurisdiction.
If you choose to access and use Literally Safe, such access and use is of your own initiative and at your own risk, and are responsible for complying with all local laws, rules and regulations. We may limit access to Literally Safe, in whole or in part, to any person, geographic area or jurisdiction we choose, at any time and in our sole discretion.
If you live outside the United States, you are hereby notified that the Company will transfer your personally identifiable information to countries other than the one in which you live, including specifically the United States where many of our central databases operate. By using Literally Safe, you are consenting to such cross-border data transfers of your Personal Data, as set forth in this Privacy Policy and U.S. law and you acknowledge that the data protection and other laws of other countries, such as the United States, may provide a less comprehensive or protective standard of protection than those in your country. The Company has entered into European Union Model Clauses, also known as Standard Contractual Clauses, to meet the adequacy and security requirements for our users in the European Union.
Your Rights Generally
Individuals located in certain countries, including the European Economic Area (EEA), have certain statutory rights in relation to their personally identifiable information. If you are a resident of the EEA, subject to any exemptions provided by law, you may have the right to request access to your personally identifiable information that we retain, as well as to seek to update, delete or correct this personally identifiable information. While we may be able to provide you access to your personally identifiable information in some cases, there is no guarantee we will be able to provide access in all circumstances. In circumstances where we are unable to verify your identity or are required to retain such information in accordance with applicable laws, we may not be able to modify or remove your personally identifiable information. We will remove your personally identifiable information in accordance with applicable law.
To the extent that our processing of your personally identifiable information is subject to the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), the Company relies on your consent. EEA Data Privacy Rights
EA residents have the right to restrict the Company's use of your personally identifiable information and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authorities, subject to applicable law. California Data Rights
If you are a resident of California, the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA) provides you with certain additional rights, including the right:

- to opt-out of Literally Safe's sale of any of the information Literally Safe collects about you to third parties;
- To have Literally Safe delete any personal data (as defined under the CCPA) that Literally Safe has collected about you;
- to know the categories of third parties to which Literally Safe has sold data about you; and
- to know the reason Literally Safe has collected data about you.

In order to assert your rights under the CCPA (as set forth above), you must confirm that you are a resident of the State of California. Literally Safe may request that you provide further evidence you are a resident of California before acting on your request. Literally Safe will respond to your request within 45 days and will include the categories of third parties to which Literally Safe has sold data about you. To opt-out of Literally Safe from selling any of the information it collects about you to third parties and to delete all such information, Literally Safe offers an "Opt-Out" Option, which can be accessed by emailing us at [email protected].
Additionally, Under California Civil Code Section 1798.83 (the "Shine The Light" law), California residents may request from Literally Safe a list of the personally identifiable information (if any) that Literally Safe has disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes during in the preceding calendar year, this includes the names and addresses of such third parties. Requests may be made only one time per year. These requests are free of charge. To make a request, please contact us at [email protected] and note that we are not able to accept requests through the telephone, mail or by facsimile. We cannot be responsible for notices that are not labeled or sent properly or that do not have complete information. In the body of such request, you must put the statement "Your California Privacy Rights", as well as your name, street address, city, state and zip code and you must provide enough information for us to determine if this applies to you. Additionally, you must attest to the fact that you are a California resident and provide a current California address.
